Virginia-based NCM singer Mindy dies after long battle

Jim Schweiger(Mindy’s Dad) reports:

Image: mindy.jpg"After four years of battling paralysis and many physical injuries from her accident in 2005, The Master finally called Mindy home.
She was back on the road, wheel chair & all, singing and speaking of God's mercy and promises. Her heart just gave out peacefully in her sleep one night. I think God just said, 'Child, you've had enough of this ole world. Come join our ForeverChoir'.
We had a memorial celebration that was attended by over a thousand people. Many of those were changed by God's work through Mindy and the ministry God entrusted to her. One of those wrote a 'send-off' poem........see below.
She was almost done with a new worship CD; and the studio is planning to follow through with it to completion.
Thanks to NCM for your prayers and your help with Mindy's music over the years. Be Abundantly Blessed!!"

TRIBUTE
Her Father watched his girl stir softly in her sleep. Her perfectly arched brow slid up toward Him just a little when He touched her face, leaving a trail of heavenly prints cascading down the strong line of her chin.
He watched her and her earthly father, the one He chose before time, the only one who would cherish her on her earthly journey like no other.
He watched as only a father can. He knew that as He brought her home, her mother, her father, her sister, niece, friends would grieve as He had when He lost His son. They would weep into the darkness of night and the light of the day, because He had created this child with such purpose. And, being as she listened to Him most of the time, she would be missed in a way few are.

And so, He padded her father's and mother's pillows with Mindy's scent so that they would know her in their fitful dreams; He planted long lost memories deep into their broken hearts for them to hang onto until they saw her again one fine day.

He gave her mother the gift of a night with Mindy like none since her childhood, where Mindy lay wrapped in her mother's lap as Sharon caressed her daughter's soft, blonde-brown hair, taking in the clear, earthy scent of her. He gave her father his daughter's final night on earth, sitting side by side with her, surfing between 'American Idol' and 'Criminal Minds', eating junk until he tucked here into bed for the last time.

He leaned across His kid and whispered, oh, so softly,'Mindy, hold my hand. Take My hand and come with me,' He said; for the day, the hour, the moment, the second, they have come.'

And, as He whispered these words to his tired, beautiful child, she felt His heavenly breeze flow across her in waves of scent and beauty; the smell of rain when it firs slaps down hard against the hot earth in summer; wisteria right before its blooms grow heavy on the vine; the smell of her earthly father's cologne, the scent of her mother's newly washed hair. She was immersed in the wonder of it all to the point where she did not, in the beginning, hear anything; she only saw.

But, the noises... she first heard a gazillion birds whistling on the wind; bees humming along, full to overflowing with the nectar if God's flowers; children laughing in abandon; puppies, both purebred and mutt, barking ; the muted sound of a cold river flowing lazily through an open meadow. And, then, she heard a roar...a mounting, rolling roar...and, it was applause. The applause of heaven, that's what it was. Angels as far as the eye could see; saints gone before, her grandmother, hundreds of people who would not have landed on heaven's door had it not been for her.

She came into the world and was gone in the twinkling of an eye, our Mindy.

God Himself said to Mindy,' Child, you have done more than simply endure the race. You have run it with all the faith and love for me that your heart can hold. You have answered every call and lived to tell the tale. And, for that, I bring you home.'

Mindy did not look back, not once. There was nothing at all left for her there. Everything lay before her.

And God looked at his child and smiled. As she ran fast as lightning into His kingdom on legs strong as steel, muscles rippling in the light of God's own sweet sunlight.

And, so, God whispered on the wind,' All is well, now, Mindy, all is well.'

And God saw that it was good.
