NCM WEEKEND 2010 THANKS & COMMENDATIONS

Thanks very, very much for all that you did to make the UKCMA NCM Weekend 2010 such a huge success here in Leighton Buzzard in the heartland of middle England. It was wonderful to enjoy the company of folks who travelled from so many parts to be with us. Many diverse parts of the world were represented. The annual event is gathering attention and its national and international benefits are being more and more evident as illustrated when we showcased the Heal Our Land musical soon to tour the UK. Clearly, from the many comments that I have received many, many people have been blessed and encouraged in their attendence, faith and service including the many artistes, media, and musicians. I will be pleased to add your commendations to those received already. Thanks to all who provided help, services, networking, support, and talent! Thanks too for the visit of the Town Deputy Mayor and his wife that gave the event community and municipal significence. It's great - amid all the bad news - to joyfully proclaim some good news! My wife Carole and I did enjoy the two hours we were on site for the UKCMA-NCM Weekend and we wish we could have stayed on longer.We did comment on how happy and upbeat we found every one and how welcome we were made. Thank you for organising another successful UKCMA Week end. It was a real joy to be in the presence of so much talent and to meet so many nice people. It was also great to renew accquaintances with friends and to meet and make new ones, with the artists who had joined the UKCMA and were appearing on stage. The Gospel choir was excellent. As always having a chat with George Hamilton IV is a treat, and listening to his music was a blessing. He is so gracious with the new talents, and is always glad to encourage and give them direction having been the music business over 50 years, which is a real gift from the Lord for up-and-coming artists. The food & refreshments were really good and very cost effective. The premises with parking space is a bonus and the actual rooms were well laid out. I also thank your church people for the care and support they gave me in setting up my stall and getting things organised. A special thank you to Ernie and Margaret who not only purchased items from my stall, but went the extra mile to ensue I was OK. The UKCMA-NCM Weekend was wonderful, the best ever. This week I've found myself smiling for no reason. When I think of those last few songs with 30 people on stage, I just grin, what a blast. Let me just add a very big thank you to yourself for allowing me and Michael to take part in this years NCM awards Also for my award for Rockabily Artist (UK). We missed Adel, and her violin, as she had gone down with the flu. A very big thank you also to George Hamilton IV, for his encouragement and allowing us to share a stage with him. To play a venue like NCM is so honouring and uplifting. I thank GOD for the provision he has given me in the way of building my confidence, and the love & affection given back from the audience, and fellow artistes. Some, I have now at the awesome privilige of playing with both here at NCM and other venues. On Sunday Morning - it was like being transported to the throne-room. What a splendid team effort of organisation! ...and, I would just like to say, .. I am greatful to receive a NCM Radio Mike Award, and the privilege to share my songs at the event. I love the way God appears to have validated the "Macedonian Call" to Music Ministry for me. The UKCMA weekend is a God honouring platform where many Christians have been launched and helped, to advance in 'their' music. I love the way, music can be used, .. Thank you most sincerely for the very warm welcome you gave me. It was a real joy to share in the event which brings so many folk together with a united aim which was so evident right from the start. Shaz and I really enjoyed being there as it was great. The sound system was brilliant. Justin and his team did a great job. We thought that the artists were good if not excellent. The canteen was excellent and we both felt that the food was first class and the staff and ambience in the restaurant were really good. We both felt really blessed and encouraged having been at NCM this year. Radio Eden is planning to run a weekend of the NCM concerts in a couple of weeks time and advertise it on the station prior to the airing the concerts to try and build it up to a 'big' event and then just run all 5 concerts over a weekend. You are doing a great job and I am grateful to have had the privilege to have been part of it. The whole UKCMA-NCM event was aired over the weekend with approximately a 3 hours delay. Saturday programmes were repeated a few times as were Sunday programmes. In other words NCM Weekend was aired worldwide for about 30 hours over the weekend. Michael Schonborn (Director/Radio Eden)
